Our violence reduction "No Knives" project in collaboration with the Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) works specifically with those from black ethic minority communities that are disproportionately affected. The project helps to reduce persistent offending and the risk of first time offending by helping individuals to develop life skills, which will enable them to fulfill their full potential in their transition into adulthood. Ultimately aiding them in participating in society as independent, mature and responsible individuals.
Intervention for young people in Hackney and Tower Hamlets who carry knives as an accessory; are involved in gangs and knife crime; are victims of knife crime or live in knife crime hotspots. It is a skills-oriented programme designed by young people which will comprise group sessions, workshops and diversionary activities that are fun and educational; teaches life skills and helps to develop personal resilience, designed to reduce the risk factors for youth violence and knife crime locally.
